Avra is a Mediterranean/Greek seafood restaurant specializing in whole grilled fish and Greek specialties. Our objective is that each and every guest’s experience is as authentic a “Mediterranean” dining experience without having to visit antiquity. In order to achieve this we prepare each dish as simply as possible and in the fashion that it has been prepared for millennia.At Avra, we create a memorable experience for our guests from the moment they walk through the door. They should be made to feel that they have been transported to warm summer days on Crete, Mykonos, or Santorini and hope they feel like a guest at our family’s table.Avra derives from the Greek word Aura (breeze) and means “Ocean Breeze.” Avra, in Greek mythology, was the Goddess of breezes and cool air, the daughter of Lelas and Periboea and one of the most known companions of the Goddess Artemis (the goddess of chastity, virginity, the hunt, the moon, and the natural environment).The first Avra on the West Coast debuts in the Golden Triangle of Beverly Hills. Stunningly designed by the Rockwell Group; graceful lemon trees, bougainvillea, whitewashed wood grain and alabaster walls beckon Greece to LA. Anabundant display of fresh fish and shellfish flown in daily sits on ice, as a showcase for guests to select from. Private dining options include a Wine Villa seating up to 40 or accommodating up to 60 for a cocktail reception. The Art Villa, a larger space seating up to 80 or a reception for 150, is adjacent to both the main dining room and Beverly Terrace. Lastly, Avra’s entire space can be reserved for events of up to 450. The healthy, Mediterranean menu and luxurious Grecian ambiance create the perfect marriage for any Los Angeles event.
