Fonner Park's multi-faceted campus is home to several unique venues that can accomodate any style and size of event.  Our professional staff has over three decades of professional event planning experience ranging from  small business meetings to large-scale conventions, concerts, and sporting events!  

OUR DEEP ROOTED HISTORY

Welcome to Fonner Park, the entertainment hub of the heartland!  Fonner Park's history began with live horse racing and over the last 70 years has evolved into an 180,000 square foot campus of multipurpose, attractive, well-designed space.  

• THE HEARTLAND EVENTS CENTER, located at Fonner Park, is Central Nebraska’s venue for weddings, conventions, professional meetings and conferences, trade shows, concerts, large banquets, athletic events, and other entertainment and activities.

• The Eihusen Arena plays host to volleyball, basketball, and wrestling tournaments in addition to the Nebraska Cheer & Dance competition each year.  Other annual events include the Nebraska State Fair, Monster Trucks, Rodeo/Bull Riding, and the National 4-H Shooting Competition.

• The Bosselman Conference Center, located within the Heartland Events Center, provides 8,000 sq. ft. of conference space.

• The Nebraska State Fair relocated to Grand Island in 2010, bringing with it a breathtaking array of new structures and facilities. The facilities serve the Nebraska State Fair during August and September each year—and are available for all types of  livestock shows, trade shows and conventions, sales, auctions, dog shows, craft shows, new product and equipment launches, large banquets, competitions, and dozens of other activities the remainder of the year.

Future home of Grand Island Casino Resort™

Grand Island Casino and Resort is a reflection of the people, Grand Island and its surrounding communities. The design is inspired by the gently rolling plains found throughout the Nebraska landscape while abstracting elements found in the predominant agriculture and Midwest vernacular. Dynamic sweeping entry elements pay homage to the great plains and hills; landscape design pulls upon farmland patterns seen from above; patterns, colors and elements draw a connection to rows of corn; and the hotel is an abstract representation of a grain silo...a silo which signifies the center and energy of towns throughout the state.

The hotel and casino complex will be a destination for many throughout the state. It will include a 37,000 sqft casino game floor with 650 slot machines and 20 table games, a sports book, 4 restaurants inclusive a rooftop dining experience, a show lounge and sports bar, a 116 room boutique hotel, a salon and spa, gift shop, and indoor and outdoor pool with an expansive deck, and a 400 stall parking garage. The project will provide a seamless connection to the existing grand stand at the horse track while also providing great views to the state fair grounds on the west and the horse races on the east, becoming an entertainment hub to all elements of Fonner Park.
