Guests at our award-winning bistro are greeted with a stylish dining room that is warm and comfortable. The atmosphere brings a feel that is “coastal” – evoking the energy and cachet of large metropolitan cities but combined with the warm, friendly style that is distinctly Kansas City.With the move to the new location at 4558 Main St, just off the Plaza, Trio has been reborn in an exciting new space that maintains the intimacy of the former. We have added room for 30 to 100 guests in 2 rooms on the mezzanine level designed for private events, but which allow for overflow seating on our busiest nights. In addition, our new location boasts what is arguably the best outdoor deck in KC with views of the Country Club Plaza and the much photographed JC Nichols fountain.Vibrant paintings by local & regional artists that change regularly as part of our revolving art program stand out boldly against the bronzed walls & rich upholstery. Five nights a week, some of KC’s most respected entertainers provide a rich music program that floats throughout the restaurant and into the adjoining Starlet Lounge where an extensive list of fine wines, beer, cocktails and our own specialty martinis awaits.This ambiance is nothing, however, without enjoying Trio’s incredibly diverse menu. There are ample steak, seafood and pasta options to suit most every taste. Executive Chef Adam Yoder, who took the leadership of our culinary team in 2013 has brought a fresh, creative slant to our very eclectic, contemporary American menu which is now transformed seasonally. However, our ever-evolving menu still includes such guest favorites as the “Mac Daddy,” Trio’s own signature and award-winning gourmet macaroni and cheese creation.Trio’s great food, stylish atmosphere and outstanding service have not escaped critical attention. In 2006, we were honored with a “City’s Best” nod for Best Midtown Restaurant by the readers of KC Magazine. In 2007 those readers and our loyal guests nominated us in 13 dining & nightlife categories and we brought home 6 awards, including Best Overall Restaurant, Best Midtown, Best Casual Dining, Best Bar, Best Bartender and best Martini. In 2009 we are once again nominated in multiple categories and KC Business Magazine has honored Trio for its exceptional customer service, naming us one of Kansas City’s “Top Ten” Businesses.
