The Deco Catering

The Deco Catering is a premier Minnesota caterer, founded by Soile Anderson in 1982. Soile started her U.S. culinary career by opening Art Deco Restaurant in downtown St. Paul at The Minnesota Museum of Art. The Deco Catering was a spin-off of that business. When the Museum of Art was sold in 1992, Soile closed the resturant but kept the catering business. That same year, she started Taste of Scandinavia bakeries (a reknowned bakery known for its fabulous Northern European bake goods.)Soile’s passion and creativeness for great food and events resulted in rapid growth of her catering business. In 2005, Soile sold Taste of Scandinavia bakeries to Festival Foods so she could focus on her passion, The Deco Catering.Soile has a great professsional staff, many of them have been with her since she started her business in 1982. In 2004, she recruited her son, Heikki Rouvinen to join the business. Heikki was educated in Switzerland and the U.S. for Hospitality Management and Business. Prior to joining Deco, Heikki worked for their family resort and UBS in Europe. Soile and Heikki divide the roles of the business perfectly. Soile uses her culinary skills and creative flare to deliver extra- ordinary experiences, while Heikki ensures all the details come together to deliver the perfect event.
