Lumber Exchange Event Center

The Lumber Exchange Event Center is a historic wedding venue located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Constructed in 1885, the Lumber Exchange Building was the first skyscraper built in Minneapolis and at the time was one of the most magnificent buildings in the area. The building boasts grand arch entries, romantic chandeliers, lofty ceilings and dazzling marble floors. Our original exposed brick combined and contemporary accents create a modernized industrial feel sure to stun you and your guests.

The Fountain Room is a stunning, nine-story atrium filled with beauty and exposed brick. The venue features a descending waterfall, sparking chandeliers, vintage lamp posts and a skylight, welcoming in natural lighting and giving The Fountain Room the ambiance of a breathtaking courtyard.The Fountain Room is perfect for lavish weddings, galas, holiday celebrations and social functions. The River Room is connected to The Fountain Room via three NanaWall folding glass doors. Book The River Room exclusively or as an extension of The Fountain Room.

Sawyers on 5th is the perfect combination of rustic elegance and urban allure. The space features exposed brick columns, stunning stone windowsills, enchanting beaded chandeliers and an original banker's safe. It's west-facing floor to ceiling windows create a picturesque view of the sun setting on downtown Minneapolis. It's connected space, Dylan's, is both luxurious and historic. It's charming design will compliment any decor you select for your event. Both Sawyers on 5th and Dylan's overlook the iconic Bob Dylan mural and showcasing our beautiful city.

The Fountain Room and Sawyers on 5th are each complete with two private suites (four in total) as well as a designated cocktail hour spaces (alternative cocktail hour spaces also available).

In addition to The Lumber Exchange Event Center, we also house The Exchange and Alibi Lounge for events seeking a swankier, club feel and The Pourhouse, for more casual prohibition style events. Our unique group of spaces and services take the stress out of event planning, allowing you to enjoy the experience.
