Restaurateur Gero Fasano debuts Fasano Restaurant in New York’s Midtown, the first U.S. restaurant from his renowned Brazilian hospitality Group, Fasano.


Born in Brazil from an italian family, fourth generation restaurateur brings his first New York City restaurant to life as the long-awaited expansion of the Fasano Group, which has been at the forefront of the São Paulo hospitality industry for over a century, since it was founded by Gero’s great great grandfather in 1902. Today, the Fasano Group consists of a robust collection of beloved restaurants and hotels throughout Brazil, Uruguay and United States. Rooted in the Fasano family’s history of excellent hospitality and their Italian heritage, Fasano New York marries impeccable service and sophisticated design alongside expertly prepared Milanese dishes. Chef Nicola Fedeli will serve an elegant menu of elevated northern Italian dishes including Ossobuco Alla Menighina con Risotto Alla Milanese, Tortelli di Vitello con Fonduta di Parmigiano Regggiano and the Classic Bollito Cart, complemented by a robust wine list curated by sommelier Manoel Beato.


Acclaimed Brazilian interior designer Isay Weinfeld, a longtime friend and collaborator of the Fasano brand (Fasano São Paulo, Boa Vista, Punta del Este and Trancoso) helms the restaurant design, which includes three sprawling dining spaces: a relaxed osteria, an elegant main dining room, and an intimate second floor for up to 26 guests with live music. Weinfeld leans into neutral tones and natural materials, including those sourced from Brazil, to create an atmosphere that is at once elegant and sophisticated, warm and welcoming, flanked by plush carpets and delicate lamps throughout. A thoughtfully curated selection of photos, objects and antiques are present throughout the space, nodding to Fasano’s properties and honoring the Group’s signature aesthetic. A lively bar and lounge, aptly named Barreto, will open in spring 2022.


With the elegance of northern Italy, Fasano brings its signature gastronomy and hospitality to New York City with the opening of its first U.S. restaurant this February.
